“A Weekend of Writing”

To be a writer, you must often draw inspiration from the experiences that life hands you. Nothing is more inspiring than learning from other creatives, celebrating each other’s work, and creative spaces that allow imagination to thrive. This collection of photos, from Eastern Connecticut State University’s 2nd Annual Literary Festival for High Schoolers and The Connecticut Renaissance Faire, are mementos of all three. The Lit Fest featured a poetry reading by Aaron Caycedo Kimura, author led workshops, and a writing contest won by three students from surrounding high schools. The Renfaire featured author tables, as well as vendors selling period outfits and fantasy pieces. Both are places where imagination is allowed to flourish, and other worlds are brought to life.
